PSG Surprised: "Lee Kang-in jersey sells as well as Neymar and Mbappe" Spotlight
Lee Kang-in's (22) Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) jersey is a hard-to-find item.
"PSG's new signing Lee Kang-in's jersey is one of the best sellers at the PSG store," Spanish media outlet 'Marca' reported on Jan. 1 (KST), adding, "PSG's new official store recently opened in Seoul. The queue to buy a Lee jersey can wrap around a block in the surrounding shopping district."
The official PSG store mentioned in the article is the Over the Pitch store in Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Over the Pitch is designated as the official store of PSG, and it also produces and sells Korean-language merchandise in collaboration with PSG.
"The enthusiasm of Korean soccer fans to buy Lee Kang-in jerseys and PSG merchandise is incredible," said Marca. Lee Kang-in jerseys have already sold 70% of their inventory," and "At the PSG official store on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, France, Lee Kang-in jerseys have also sold beyond expectations."
"There are a lot of Asian fans traveling to Paris, France this summer and buying Lee Kang-in jerseys. The overwhelming majority of them 토토 are from Korea. PSG's signing of Lee will allow them to further expand in the Asian market."
"Last season, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and Lionel Messi led jersey sales, but this season, Lee has joined the ranks. The interest is beyond our expectations."
A PSG marketer said, "Football fans who love PSG love star players. Last season we had Messi, this season we have Neymar, Mbappe, Marco Verratti, Gianluigi Donnarumma, and more. Add to that the arrival of PSG's first Asian player, Lee Kang-in, and we've seen a significant increase in jersey purchases from Asian fans."
PSG chose Japan and South Korea for its pre-season tour to expand its presence in Asia. The club has already played three friendlies in Japan. They failed to get a point against Al Nasr in Osaka (0-0 draw), Cerezo Osaka (2-3 loss), and Inter Milan in Tokyo (1-2 loss). Lee missed all three games after suffering a minor injury prior to the tour of Japan.
The PSG squad travels to Busan, South Korea, for an open training session on Feb. 2, before playing their final preseason match against Jeonbuk Hyundai at 5 p.m. on Feb. 3 at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium. It will be the first time we will see Lee Kang-in and Neymar together.
